WHY WE ARE FAITH-BASED

It is more difficult to be faith based because there is much more support available if we leave out God. That includes government grants and many other contributors, but we can’t operate successfully without the healing power of God working on the inside. This process has produced tangible outcomes multiple times. We believe God works supernaturally and we’ve observed the long-lasting results of this level of healing.

The DW team members are Christians, but certainly not religious and push no denominations. We have found we can help you on the outside if you will let God help on the inside. It’s the reason, along with experienced leaders who have experienced trauma themselves, we have such a success ratio. 

Over the 7 years of Downrange Warriors’ serving veterans and 1st responders, the example has often been used that leaving God out of the healing process is much like walking into a bar fight and leaving your 6ft 7in and 300lb friend in the car. God is always the one who carries the day…we are just the facilitators.

We realize many are angry at God after experiencing trauma but don’t want to say it. They feel a loving God should have prevented the tragedy. We call that a Moral Injury. You are not the first and you won’t be the last. We understand. We were once there. But, with more understanding of how He operates, each of us can restore that relationship and thus, access the amazing healing power.  

Unfair things happen in this world because people have something called “choice”. That not only includes us but those who will make bad choices that affect our lives. God gives us the autonomy to make our own choices as well, and therefore, allows us to decide our own destiny. We have learned a person’s faith is the first thing to go and the last thing to come back when experiencing real traumas. But there is good news. Really good news. We know how to help. There have been others walk this path before and we have found both victory and joy in civilian life.
